Multipure Reviews

The Multipure water filter has an average of
4.5 stars out of 5 at Amazon:

"You can't go wrong with this one. I've owned it for almost a year, works perfectly. You only need to change the filter once a year. Is small enough to fit anywhere on the countertop you want to place it near the sink(s). Never drips, never a problem.

Looks attractive too in stainless steel. Easy to keep clean.

Can't recommend it highly enough."

"I've had this filter for 6 months and I am very pleased. Installation took just minutes without any tools. Filtered tap water tastes exactly like the Arrowhead bottled water that I used to buy, and it might even be cleaner... If you are comparing models, note that this particular filter also reduces Arsenic, a rare feature among countertop filters." [Note: only the 880 and RO models filter arsenic]

"This is a great water filter system that I have been using for years. I understand that the water is very highly filtered and much better than the regular Brita pitcher system I previously used. I also only have to change the filter once per year, and that's fairly easy to do. I think it also may be cheaper in the long run than the Brita, even with with initial high cost. Though it sits on the counter-top behind my kitchen water faucet, it is not in the way and looks nice-enough. The included faucet connectors worked well for my standard faucet. Highly recommended."

"We've had ours about a year or two now and it works great, water tastes great. Everyone in Berkeley seems to buy this brand after all their research so I admit I didn't do any myself but i'm happy with the results! "

"After living on a Western Washington farm with a 300' deep well, then the outer reaches of Pacific Northwest coast, with a five home, community well, I and my family were accustomed to the taste of pure, untreated water. Visitors often commented they liked the water, even after we began to take it for granted.

After moving to Tumwater and Olympia, Washington, with their chemically treated water, we missed our well water and began searching for a means of plentiful, quality water.

Initially, I purchased simple filters that screwed onto the tap. They helped, but just didn't quite produce the quality we were looking for. Too, they were clumsy to use. We progressed to little more expensive counter-top units. Again, an improvement, but not the end solution.

I began more serious searches and, after hours of on-line research, I selected the MULTI-PURE under-counter water filter. It required a hole in the sink to install the on-demand faucet. Initially, I drilled one, but since have used the spray nozzle hole in rentals. From day we installed it, it was a hit. Now, regardless of where I live, the filter system goes with us.

It costs about sixty a year, but that seems little for water I know is 99% pure and that is far and away more convenient than bottled water. " - Dejure

NOTE: The Multipure filters recently had a name change but the filters are EXACTLY THE SAME as before! The old 750 series is not the Aquaversa, the old 880 series is now the Aquaperform and the old 750 RO Plus system is now the Aquacomplete.

Brita Reviews

The Brita faucet model has an average of
3.1 stars out of 5 at Amazon.com:

"I see a lot of previous reviews from other people who got sucked into this product. It's the biggest waste of $30 I have ever spent. It leaks, sprays water all over my kitchen, and if I, heaven forbid, turn the water on past low, it will just fall off. I know the initial assumption is "operator error", but I assure you, as an engineer who works for a consumer products company, I have installed the thing correctly. I have the most standard faucet you could find, and it leaks everywhere. When I contacted Brita about the poor quality of their product, they ignored me and never responded. And you better hope you never have to move. I am moving right now, and the little plastic adapter literally disintegrated in the faucet head and is stuck there. When I tried to remove it, the plastic just kept snapping off until now it is embedded into the faucet, which will probably now need to be replaced because of it. DO NOT BUY BRITA and DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PRODUCT!" - K. Wayne

"I don't know what it is about this product, but it just does not hold up at all. Actually, I do know what it is: cheaply made.
When it works, it works great. There is nothing like having fresh water at the tap without having to refill a pitcher every day. But it won't take long for you to realize that this device isn't made for the long term.
Within months of owning small leaks start to occur around the device. Shortly after those appear, the leaks worsen and will actually run into the water you are wanting to filter.
After spending over $100 on 3 replacements and how ever many replacement filters, I have learned my lesson the hard way on this product.
You really do get what you pay for in this product." - D. Couse

-----------------

"This product seems to only design to last max 1 year as it will start to leak like crazy. Luckily in Australia they offer 2 year warranty so I got it replaced. But I will not go back to this system, turn to the jug one instead." - Gi Gi

Aquasana Reviews

The Aquasana has an average of 3.7 stars out of 5 at Amazon:

Is Aquasana ashamed of the reviews it has received at Amazon?  Otherwise, I don't really know why I received a letter from their attorney stating I could get in trouble for publishing the reviews of the Aquasana 4000 I had previously published, from the amazon site.**.

Therefore I suggest you can go to amazon and see for yourself what it is they don't want me to publish: Aquasana AQ-4000W Countertop Water Filter System

**I received a notice from Aquasana's attorney which states in part:
" ... you have re-published false and misleading claims about Aquasana you allege were made by "real people across the internet. Assuming for the sake of argument you did not plant the unfavorable reviews, by republishing false and disparaging information, you are every bit as liable as the original author. Your conduct violates the Federal Lanham Act (15 U.S.C. § 1125 et seq.)."

Is there something Aquasana would prefer that you not read at amazon? Does Aquasana have some negative reviews online? Go to this link and see for yourself! LOL.
